Something as Simple as New Pajamas Can Make a Big Difference

Something as Simple as New Pajamas Can Make a Big Difference

EO Atlanta is partnering with Jambos to bring comfort and a sense of belonging to children entering foster care. Here’s why we’re asking our members to get involved.

Think about the last time you bought a new pair of pajamas. Chances are, you didn’t give it much thought. For most of us, it’s an ordinary purchase, something we take for granted.

But for a child entering foster care, having something new that’s just theirs can mean a whole lot more.

In a recent video from Jambos, foster parents share what it’s really like when a child arrives at their home. Some come with a small bag of belongings. Others arrive with barely anything at all.

One foster parent recalls children showing up with just one shoe. Another talks about the realization that some of the children they’ve welcomed into their home have never really had anything to call their own.

It’s hard to hear, and even harder to imagine what that experience must be like for a child.

That’s where Jambos comes in.

A Little Comfort During a Difficult Transition

Jambos works to provide children in foster care with new pajamas, offering something familiar and comforting during what can be an incredibly uncertain time.

One foster parent in the video describes the difference it makes to have a brand-new pair of pajamas, socks, or even a stuffed animal waiting on a child’s bed when they arrive.

For a child walking into an unfamiliar home, surrounded by people they don’t know, those little things matter. They offer some reassurance at a time when almost everything else in their life may be changing.

And perhaps just as importantly, those pajamas belong to them. They’re not borrowed or handed down. They’re theirs.

The foster parents also share how Jambos has supported their families in other ways, from celebrating birthdays to creating experiences that help children feel included and valued.

It’s a reminder that caring for children in foster care extends beyond providing a place to stay. It’s also about helping them feel welcome, secure, and cared for.

EO Atlanta, Here’s Where We Come In

As entrepreneurs, we’re used to solving problems. We see a need, figure out what we can do about it, and get to work.

Our PJ Drive for Jambos is an opportunity to put that same mindset to work for children in our own community.

We’re asking EO Atlanta members to donate new pajamas that Jambos can provide to children entering foster care.

It’s a pretty straightforward ask, and that’s part of what makes it so worthwhile. You don’t need to make a significant financial commitment or carve out hours of your schedule to participate. You just need to help us get pajamas into the hands of the children who need them.

When you consider the difference something so simple can make, it’s an easy way for our chapter to come together and do something meaningful.

Let’s Show Up for These Kids

One of the things that makes EO special is the community we’ve built. We spend a lot of time helping one another become better business owners, leaders, and people. But that sense of community doesn’t have to stop with our membership.

We have an opportunity to extend it to children and families who could use a little extra support.

If you’ve got a few minutes to purchase a new pair of pajamas, we’d love for you to participate in the drive. And if you’re in a position to give more, even better.

Because while a pair of pajamas won’t solve every challenge a child in foster care faces, it can help make one difficult night a little more comfortable.

And that’s a pretty good place to start.
