EO Atlanta Holiday Party

December 10 @ 7:00 pm - 11:00 pm EST

The central drive of the Harlem Renaissance – the development and promotion of a distinctly African American culture – called for renewed self-respect and self-dependence within the community.

Come celebrate with EO Atlanta these rich and diverse times which called for the necessity of true self-expression to achieve spiritual emancipation, perseverance, and confidence. We’ll give thanks to the artistic heroes inspired by these themes with music from the jazz musicians of the era like Duke Ellington, and works inspired from writers Langston Hughes and Claude McKay, the sculptor Meta Vaux Warrick Fuller, and the painter Aaron Douglas to name a few.

The Harlem Renaissance was inspired, in part, by the writer, Alain LeRoy Locke’s view that “the moral function of art…is to remove prejudice, do away with the scales that keep the eye from seeing, tear away the veils due to won’t and custom, and perfect the power to perceive.”

FEEL: Festive. Alive. Grateful.
GET: Into the holiday spirit
LEARN: How to celebrate the perseverance it’s taken to get here and thrive in the present.

Attire:  Black Tie

This event is open to EO Members, SLPs, Accelerators and SAPs only.
